04 / Biography & academic service

Research, teaching
and scientific service.

I am a Full Professor at the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio, Italy, and conduct research within CNIT.

I received the M.Sc. degree in Electronic Engineering, summa cum laude, in 1994 and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1999, both from the University of Naples Federico II. I joined the University of Cassino in 2000 and became a Full Professor in 2018.

My research spans wireless communications and statistical signal processing, from multiuser detection and energy-efficient resource allocation to distributed MIMO, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, and integrated sensing and communications.

From May 2022 to April 2026, I was also affiliated with Politecnico di Milano as a part-time Full Professor. I have held short-term research appointments at Princeton University and have experience in European research projects, international collaboration, and the supervision of doctoral and postdoctoral researchers.
